I’m not using Chat GPT here, and I’m also not a writer; so be patient with my writing skills..
Since a young age our family will drive down to Jeffreys Bay where my grandfather live. He has a garage the size of a mansion.. well I recently discovered it was not that big and amazing as I grew up to believe, but when you are young everything is full of wonder and colour!
We would make everything from wooden swords to boxes for stuff, and pens.. lots and lots of wooden lathe-turned pens!
I grew up with a passion for all kind of woods, and recently decided to tackle some steelwork and leatherwork with the help of my father who helped me set up the right tools and equipment. Without him I would still be stuck just making pens.. Thanks dad 🙂
With a brain designed to multi-task and take on literally any challenge, If you ask me to make something I will most probably say yes and watch a YouTube video until I deliver the exact thing.
Anyway.. here’s a picture of my 83 year old grandfather still showing the young ones how it’s done and me and my father at a blade sports competition.
